Understanding The Issues

  • Housing

  • Employment

  • Taxing
  • Communication

Housing

We need an innovative approach to housing to lower prices and add to our housing stock. We need to remove zoning barriers so that smaller-scale development can become more accessible in Monroe.

Employment

We need to continue to encourage entrepreneurship as a means of economic development and growth. Companies that are built here and call this area home are more likely to have a deeper commitment to our area, building economic resilience. Having more of these employers gives our community more legs to stand on if one fails.

Taxing

By encouraging denser development and different housing types, we can reduce the tax burden and keep our amenities by growing into them. For example, the tax dollars of 100 apartments can be much more tax productive than 100 single-family homes on ten newly built blocks. Balance is key, and we need a mix of both.

Communication

As mayor, I will use every resource that I have to be as transparent as possible, and to bring as many people into the conversation as I can. I will share regular updates, positive news, and helpful information as much as possible.
