Community Update

Interactive map of "Blessing Boxes" released

FoodShare assistance is expected to run out of funding soon as the federal shutdown continues, which means food insecurity will likely rise across Green County.

While food pantries remain a vital resource, some families need short-term or emergency options too. That’s why I’ve created a community map of Little Free Food Pantries and Blessing Boxes — neighborhood stations where anyone can take or leave nonperishable food.

Many of these boxes are concentrated downtown and on the north side, but there are gaps on Monroe’s south and west sides. My goal is to see more of these stations across the city so they are walkable from most neighborhoods.

You can view the map here: [Insert link]

If you know of another location, please reach out so I can add it. This map will be updated as new information comes in.

These small efforts show what community looks like in action. When we work together, we make sure no one in Monroe goes hungry
